Founded in 1897, the RAC has consistently been at the forefront of motoring. And today, we provide complete peace of mind to our members and corporate partners, through a growing range of products and services.

Our first-class breakdown service remains at the heart of what we do. 24/7, 365 days a year, our expert patrols are there for the UK’s drivers. The dedication of our colleagues ensures we provide the premium service you’d expect from such a trusted and well-loved brand.

But we don’t just do breakdowns. Our motoring know-how allows us to offer other products and services to help the nation’s drivers. Our insurance business, established in 1989, boasts over 700,000 customers.

More recently, we’ve expanded into the service, maintenance and repair market (SMR). In addition to our network of RAC Approved Garages, we’ve introduced mobile mechanics. Available nationwide, they can service or repair cars at home or work. So no more hassle getting to the garage. Our members love the trust and transparency they don’t always get from a garage.

We use all of this our motoring expertise to campaign for positive change for our members. As the voice of drivers, we analyse, lobby and comment on important issues, from fuel prices to road safety and are regularly invited to consult with government on motoring legislation.

All of our offerings come together in myRAC – the app we re-launched in 2022. As well as digital self-service, the app offers drivers the ability to find the cheapest local fuel, book mobile mechanics, buy tyres, upgrade their cover, and much more.
